Earlier this month, President Barack Obama blocked the bill (Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA)) allowing victims of 9/11 and their relatives to sue the Government of Saudi Arabia over its alleged involvement in the terrorist attack.

However on 28 September 2016, the US Congress voted overwhelmingly to override the veto by President Obama for the first time, passing into law the controversial bill.
