On 25 November 2018, over 66 percent of voters in a Swiss referendum voted against the “Swiss law, not foreign judges” proposal. The proposal, backed by the right-wing Swiss People’s Party, called for a provision to be added to the national constitution giving it explicit precedence over international agreements.
